Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria revealed names of 119 MPs who are against the ousting of National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.
Moses Kuria took to Facebook on Thursday, June 4 to publish the names that included Women Reps from various counties.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the MP admitted that the 119 numbers could grow and urged Kieni MP Kanini Kega to produce his list of those against Duale.
"There are 119 MPs supporting Duale as of now, and I have not counted the 12 who were with him in the morning.
"They have not signed documents, we are just expressing solidarity. We are telling Kanini here we are, now table yours.
The bulk of the names he revealed were from Tanga Tanga who have pledged their support for Deputy President William Ruto.
A notable name was Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu who is on record supporting the ouster of Duale but later changed his stance on Wednesday, June 3.
Moses Kuria posted the names with the caption, "We will stand with Hon Aden Duale," and started with his name on the list.
Despite having the large numbers at Duale's disposal it might be a case of counting the chicks before they hatch as it was proven in the ousting of Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki.
Kieni MP Kanini Kega on Wednesday, June 3 noted that he had collected 115 signatures, and still counting, to remove Majority Leader Aden Duale.
Though he did not publicly reveal his numbers, Kega and Moses Kuria are set to go head to head with both claiming to have almost similar numbers.
Deputy President William Ruto’s camp only managed seven votes in the removal of Kithure Kindiki as Senate Deputy Speaker.
