Manyatta MP John Muchiri Nyaga went viral on Sunday, June 7 as he tore into President Uhuru Kenyatta and predicted doom for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

In light of the purge on allies of Deputy President William Ruto, Nyaga claimed that ongoing machinations in the Jubilee Party would sabotage the BBI project fronted by Uhuru and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

He accused Uhuru of seeking to control who Members of Parliament associate with, wondering why leaders were allegedly being victimized for associating with the Deputy President.

Nyaga warned Uhuru that, if his handling of the wrangles within the party were anything to go by, then the BBI would lead Kenya to ruin.

He claimed that having isolated DP Ruto, it would be impossible for a section of Kenyans to subscribe to the unity narrative championed by Uhuru and Raila.

"Uhuru and Ruto first came together to unite the people of Mt Kenya and Rift Valley after some of the deadliest clashes we have ever seen.

"How can you say you're building bridges while busy destroying one. Don't you need the people of Rift Valley?

"So, unless there is something they're hiding in that BBI, I don't understand it when you tell me people are being removed because of their association with the Deputy President. Let them talk, he is the Deputy President, we don't want warlike in South Sudan. This is how nations disintegrate," he cautioned.

Nyaga claimed that the Deputy President had been more accessible to lawmakers seeking assistance on various issues compared to the President since their election in 2013.

An incensed Nyagah claimed that the removal of Cecily Mbarire from her position as Deputy Majority Whip in the National Assembly was not due to her track record but her affiliation to the Deputy President.

"A lawmaker is not a child, you cannot take a cane even if you are the President, even if you are Trump (Donald - US President).

"Even if you're the leader of the free world, you don't just declare that this is how it will be. A Lawmaker is a leader," he asserted.
