Deputy President William Ruto struck a deal with ANC Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
Following a meeting of their aides at DP Ruto’s Karen home on Friday, June 12, the three leaders created a technical team to flesh out details of the deal.
“The meeting brought Jubilee (those from Western allied to the DP), ANC and Ford Kenya together.
"We have agreed to join forces to address the challenges facing our people. We have been treated badly and it is time this changed,” Mumias East MP Ben Washiali stated.
The technical team appointed will prepare a report to be submitted to the principals on the way forward.
Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa who was also in the two-hour meeting stated that because of the tribulations faced by the DP, there was no looking back.
“We will forward two names of those from the Jubilee side who will represent us in the committee,” he told reporters.
Ruto is said to have given his team the blessing to engage Mudavadi who has also been consolidating his troops.
“We assembled here as leaders from Western Kenya. We will particularly focus on the unfolding character of governance & of the political economy in the country and its implications for everybody, Mudavadi addressed a press conference after a meeting at his residence in Nairobi.
Following the discussions at Karen, the ANC party leader met his aides later in the day, among them Vihiga Woman Rep Beatrice Adagala and Matungu MP Justus Murunga.
From the ANC side, the technical committee will include MPs Sakwa Bunyasi (Nambale) and Alfred Agoi (Sabatia).
Ford Kenya fronted MPs Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini) and Ferdinand Wanyonyi (Kwanza).
