Jubilee Party vice-chair David Murathe on Sunday, June 21, fired a warning to members planning to miss the Parliamentary Group meeting slated for Monday, June 22.

Murathe noted that the party would not hesitate in disciplining defiant members as it had been 'soft' in dealing with such issues in the past.

"Missing tomorrow's PG meeting should not come to anyone's mind. Disciplinary actions are crystal clear in the Jubilee Party Act to those who are deviating from the fundamental requirements of the party.

"In the recent, we have witnessed a lot of disloyalty, insubordination, impunity, disobedience, and direct insults to our party leader. That must come to an end," stated Murathe.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Kenyatta International Conventional Center (KICC) where Uhuru is expected to unveil new changes within Jubilee's National Assembly administration.

Murathe's post was met with uproar both from Deputy President William Ruto's allies and the public who questioned his threats.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Kimili MP Didmus Barasa laughed off Murathe's warning assuring that he would not attend the meeting.

"I will not attend, I am upcountry attending to more important matters. I wait to see what actions will be taken against me.

"The era of people threatening others with dire consequences are gone. We are in an era where we are pursuaded by logic, not by threats," he noted.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, on the other hand, sent a strong-worded response to Murathe. He advised Murathe to shun "stupidity" and reminded him of generational (age) differences.

"Hitting heads is dictatorship and not leadership. How will those joining you not fear you guys? Too much destruction in the name of unity. Dialogue and arbitration has been winning in vast events of the world," reads a comment on Murathe's Facebook post.

According to The Standard, Uhuru will chair a virtual PG after four State House members contracted Covid-19.
