Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko has reiterated that Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is still part of the Orange Democratic Movement despite contrary reports.

Mboko was speaking on Tuesday, June 23 outside Parliament building and addressed reports on social media suggesting that Joho had decamped ODM.

"There has been a lot of reports on social media, we are seeing a lot of propaganda on Ali Hassan Joho, I want to lay it open that Joho cannot leave ODM in his political career.

"He is under Raila Odinga, his loyalty cannot be swayed and cannot be changed, now that we are under the handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta, Joho will remain under these leaders," stated Mishi.

She urged those thinking that Joho will be swayed to join another coalition to stop daydreaming and assured that Joho's future political ambitions are under ODM.

A Twitter post on Sunday, June 21 by a user under the name TeamWilliamRuto purported that Deputy President William Ruto met with Joho at the Jubilee Asili Center with the agenda of Kenya's future.

There has been uncertainty about Joho's next move as he is not eligible to run for the Gubernatorial seat after serving two terms.

The rumours come after some parties fell out of the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition recently most notably the Wiper Party.

Wiper Democratic Movement led by Kalonzo Musyoka on Wednesday, June 17 signed a cooperation agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.

Kalonzo explained that the NASA coalition had failed to live up to a pre-election agreement signed before the 2017 election, that committed them to working together after the polls even in the case of a loss.

Amani National Congress Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi has been reported to be in talks with Deputy President William Ruto, a move he later dismissed.

A section of Ford Kenya members have also accused ODM of trying to sabotage the party following an attempt to oust the party leader, Moses Wetangula.
