Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika has been put on notice alongside Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri after launching an onslaught against President Uhuru Kenyatta at a funeral.
A report by The Standard on Thursday, July 9, indicated that the two risks losing their Jubilee Party membership after taking a swipe at the Head of State over numerous issues.
While attending a funeral in Nandi County, the two blamed the head of state over increasing police brutality countrywide and also took an issue with the leadership changes in Parliament.
Jubilee Party's Nakuru Branch secretariat which is headed by David Manyara disclosed that they had discussed extensively regarding the conduct of the two leaders who have been accused of continuously attacking the party leader.
"This is the first meeting since the current pandemic hit us. We have discussed at length the conduct of Ngunjiri and Kihika who have been negating the party principles," stated Manyara.
Also on the ouster list are a number of members of the County Assembly of Nakuru behind a move to impeach Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
Kihika was earlier already kicked out of her Majority Whip position in the Senate for supposedly for her allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto.
Other leaders who were ejected from their Parliamentary positions for apparently supporting the DP include former Majority Leader in the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen and his National Assembly counterpart Aden Duale.
More than eight people are feared to have lost their lives in the hands of officers since March 2020, when the dusk-to-dawn curfew was instituted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
A Human Rights Watch (HRW) report pointed out that police were using excessive force while some were breaking into homes and shops and extorting money from residents among other misdemeanors.
“It is shocking that people are losing their lives and livelihoods while supposedly being protected from infection.
“Police brutality is not just unlawful; it is also counterproductive in fighting the spread of the coronavirus,” a senior Africa researcher at Human Rights Watch stated.
After an outcry over the brutality, Uhuru issued an apology and urged the police service to follow the law.
