Kittony is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi where he attained the following degrees – Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), Nairobi; Bachelor of Law (Hons) Nairobi, before enrolling at USIU and earned a Global Executive MBA.

His résumé could arguably see him crowned as the 'king of chairmen', having served at the helm of 6 different companies. Currently, he occupies the position of Chairman for AAR Insurance Ltd., Chairman of Mtech Ltd., Chairman of Credit Reference Bureau Kenya Ltd. and Chairman of Radio Africa Group Ltd.

The new NSE head also served as the Chairman of Media Owners Association and Chairman of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Notably, Kittony had been serving on the NSE board as a non-executive member in 2018.

His new role will see him replace Samuel Kimani who resigned on July 13, after serving as the chairman of the NSE board since 2012.

Taking to his social media accounts, Kittony thanked the board for having elected him to the position of chairmanship.

“I appreciate the confidence of the board of the NSE upon my election as Chairman this morning,” Kittony tweeted.

It was also revealed that the incumbent NSE Chair would remain on the board as an independent non-executive director for one more year.

At the same time, NSE said Bob Karina will continue to serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Board for the next year.
