Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is currently on holiday in Malindi, Kilifi County with the family after returning from Dubai where he underwent a minor back surgery.
Raila's brother Oburu Odinga has allayed fears that his illness had recurred, clarifying he was working remotely and was even visiting the gym.
"Those people who are still saying that Raila is sick are mistaken. He is extremely healthy and back to the gym in Malindi.
"He will be back soon with vigor," explained Oburu while addressing a gathering in Alego Usonga.
Reports emerged that Raila had escaped the chilly Nairobi weather to more warm coastal weather to accelerate his recovery from surgery.
According to a number of sources, Raila has been on holiday at a residence rumored to be owned by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho in Casuarina, Malindi.
An ODM politician from Malindi noted that Raila is on a private trip and was on bed rest after jetting into the country from Dubai but remained tight lipped on the details of the visit.
A Daily Nation report revealed that the ODM party leader had been spotted in Kilili Baharini Hotel in Malindi and Hemmingway Hotel in Watamu.
Raila made his first appearance since entering self-isolation on Thursday, July 23, appearing briefly in a virtual meeting with the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB).
The African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa made a return into the country on Sunday, July 13 from Dubai alongside Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.
Joho and Junet had set social media ablaze after hiring a high end private jet to visit Raila in Dubai on Thursday, July 9.
