The family of the late Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official made a heartfelt request three years after his death.

On Tuesday, July 28, the family paid for an obituary on the Daily Nation while celebrating the memorial of the slain information and communications technology (ICT) manager.

"We ask all relatives, friends and well-wishers to have a special prayer for Chris's soul on this day since we cannot assemble for memorial service," an excerpt of the obituary reads.

The family went on to mourn Msando who was found murdered on Saturday, July 28, 2017, at Muguga Forest in Kikuyu on Saturday.

They stated that his special memories remain safely tucked into their hearts and they will fondly remember his loving nature, smile wisdom and generosity.

"Days have turned into three years since when you were brutally murdered. As for your family, the memory of you will never grow old. Your life to us was a blessing and you were loved beyond measure. We miss you, Chris," they eulogised.

His widow Eva Msando has numerously asked government agencies to fast track investigations into his death, with no suspect yet to face charges in the murder puzzle.

The case was turned into a song on the lips of politicians who use it to throw jabs at each other over political allegiances. On Monday, January 20, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria threatened to sue anyone who linked him to the murder

Kuria offered information to the police on Msando's death in July 2017 after reportedly being tipped off by members of the public.

On May 16, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi also threatened to disclose the whereabouts of the killers, a move which irked ODM MP Samuel Atandi who called for his immediate arrest. Atandi urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate the murder puzzle with Sudi as a witness.

Msando died before the heated 2017 General Election in which President Uhuru Kenyatta defeated ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The two leaders vowed to foster peace and unity pre and post-elections through the famous March 2018 handshake which also birthed the Building Bridges Initiative. BBI calls for inclusivity of all communities into the Government.
