Kameme TV anchor and presenter Njogu wa Njoroge has become the talk of town after he wedded his second wife Mary Lincoln over the weekend in a traditional ceremony.
Rumours of the union had been shared across social media platforms but photos of the dowry event which was attended by his co-host Wangeci wa Kariuki, radio presenter Muthee Kiengei and musician Samidoh cemented the news.
Reports of the new union sparked debate especially because Njogu wa Njoroge had previously been married with children to his first wife as well as the fact that his new fiance is a gospel musician and a divorcee.
Many christians criticised the relationship because their faith doesn’t allow men to marry multiple wives. The situation was further complicated by the fact that Mary is a gospel musician.
Njogu wa Njoroge’s co-host came to his defence, asking people not to judge the two love birds, citing scripture from the Bible.
“Njogu is a blessed man and God told everyone that ‘David is a man after my own heart despite all his shortcomings’ Who are you to judge?
“Mary Lincoln is one of the most pure-hearted girls I have ever met .Njogu you have gotten yourself something great. Cases of jealousy should be reported to the chief on Facebook,” his co-host posted.
Both have children from their previous partners which also means that they may have to make co-parenting arrangements.
Wangeci advised ladies not to get into unions with partners whom they don’t love and to learn how to get out of relationships early enough.
In a Facebook live stream, she explained that healing from a heartbreak was easier without children being involved.
Similar scandals have rocked the gospel industry with popular artists Ben Githae and Muigai wa Njoroge being accused of having affairs outside their marriages.
In June 2020, photos were shared across social media showing Muigai in a compromising situation with a woman who was not his wife. One of his fans, however, dismissed the images as having being edited to malign the musician for his songs against President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ben Githae on the other hand, owned up to his mistakes and admitted to siring twins outside his marriage,during a recent interview on YouTube.
