Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi on Thursday, August 13, called out COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli after he asked Deputy President William Ruto to resign.

The trade unionist argued that the DP lacked integrity and could not be trusted with matters involving the government.

"We are the people, if he talks about God we also pray, he is not the only person who prays, God is for us all. The best thing the DP need to do is to resign if he does know the difference between himself and the deep state," Atwoli stated.

In response to Atwoli's remarks, Sudi accused the trade unionist of failing to have Kenyans' interests at heart by not defending the rights of labourers.

"You are the COTU Sec-Gen but when will you ever defend the rights of Kenyans? Most Kenyans are sleeping on empty stomachs because of the bad economy but not once have I heard you defend Kenyans," Sudi stated.

Further, Sudi demanded transparency and full accountability for Covid-19 funds, resources and equipment.

"Where will you take all the money that you are stealing?" Sudi posed.

"There are lots of problems in Kenya today. When there was a lockdown, you were just scheming how you would steal covid-19 funds," he accused.

On Thursday, August 13, Deputy President William Ruto asked Kenyans not to be phased by threats from the so-called “deep state and the system”.

The deep state is viewed as a group of influential members of government agencies or the military, believed to be involved in the secret manipulation or control of government policy.

Ruto stated that he would not be threatened by the 'deep state' which he alleged consisted of people who would rig him out during the General Election.

"I want to dare them. We are waiting for the so-called deep state. They have the system but we have the people and God on our side," Ruto declared.
