Out of the 151 cases, 2 were foreigners with 149 Kenyans. Females were 77 and 74 males. This was the first time a higher number of female cases was recorded ever since Covid-19 broke out on Friday, March 13.

The youngest patient was a three-year-old with the oldest a 74-year-old.

173 patients recovered. 107 were from home-based care program with 66 discharged from various hospitals. The total number of recoveries thus stands at 21,483

No deaths were registered, with the fatality remaining at 599 cases.

Distribution of the 151 positive cases per counties was as follows; Kitui 54, Nairobi 23, Uasin Gishu 11, Kiambu 9, Garissa 9, Migori 9, Kisii 7, Trans Nzoia 6, Narok 4, Kericho 3, Mombasa 2, Busia 2, Taita Taveta 2, Machakos 2, Kilifi 2, Bomet, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Meru, Nakuru and Kajiado 1 case each.

"The number of hospitalized patients and those in ICU has reduced, but we are not out of the woods yet. Mombasa and Nairobi have recorded high cases so far. At individual levels, some counties are showing trends in rising numbers like Machakos, Busia and Nyeri. The overall curve may be showing downward progress but some counties are still worrying," Aman warned.

He urged Kenyans to observe all measures stipulated to curb Covid-19 to ensure Kenya flattens the curve. The CAS cited foreign countries such as US and Spain which have recorded spikes in Covid-19 cases through secondary and tertiary infections after they reopened.
