Veteran Presenter Edward Kwach Announces Radio Comeback

Veteran Kiss FM Presenter Edward Kwach, has announced a final comeback to the airwaves as part of a whole new cast at Urban Radio.

The media personality is set to team up alongside the experienced and dynamic duo of Brian Oduor and Chris Okinda.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Okinda, a former member of the Hot 96 family, revealed that The Last Link, which will serve as their moniker, is looking to shake things up in the country's radio scene.

"Radio has always been the most popular media. We want to bring that spark back, that extra oomph that will make people remember why they fell in love with radio in the first place," he asserted.

Urban Radio -based in Kisumu, broadcasts to several counties across the western region, from Nakuru all the way to the lakeside, with fans outside this range able to catch up with their favourite presenters via the radio station's online space.

  

From analytical data, most Kenyan college students come from these counties making them the prime target for the new line up at Urban Radio. 

Here's a look at the new members at Urban Radio.

Edward Kwach

It has been at least 6 years since the veteran presenter aired his voice on Radio.

The legendary presenter has been making bread as the director at Steadman Group, a Marketing and Public Relations company.

His no-holds-barred attitude and persona endeared him to many as he worked across the country's leading stations.

Starting out at Capital FM, he went on to work at Kiss FM, EA Radio, Nation FM (now Easy FM) and Urban Radio, where he is set to make his return to the airwaves.

He will be hosting the breakfast show alongside Okinda.

Chris Okinda

An ardent Manchester United supporter, Okinda is one of the few people who can square off with Kwach when it comes to experience in the industry.

Starting out as an intern at KTN, the media guru has gone on to work at Family FM, Hot 96, Nation FM, Radio 5 in Tanzania, with his compass now pointing towards Urban Radio.

"The big launch is slated for September 29. You'll get to learn all about the new direction during the gala", he revealed.

Brian Oduor

Having worked as a Radio/TV Presenter at Nation Media Group (NMG) since 2012, Oduor has decided to challenge himself by embracing change.

He is set to be unveiled as the Drive Show host at the Kisumu-based Urban Radio on September 29.

The Multimedia University alumnus also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Languages, African Languages, Literatures and Linguistics from the University of Eastern Africa Baraton.

The three veterans said that they are looking to leverage all their experience to win the hearts and minds of radio fanatics, otherwise known as radio heads.
