Raila Junior, on September 15, hit out at ODM Party leaders for not observing the ideals of the party.
In a tweet, seemingly aimed at Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who is also the ODM deputy party leader, Junior stated that the party had lost focus.
"We as ODM need to find our way back to basics, we’re not just about private jets and slay queens whilst abusing rival politicians, we have a development agenda clearly outlined in our manifesto, let’s focus on service delivery, democratic space, protecting private citizen rights," he stated.ODM leader Raila Odinga addresses the media in Kisumu County on Friday, August 14, 2020File
During the weekend, while the ODM leader was on a tour of Mombasa, Joho heavily criticised Deputy President William Ruto.
"It is absurd for the deputy president to claim to represent the poor. Which hustler flies across the country with fleets of cars and helicopters," Joho posed, pointing out that Ruto had opted for early campaigns.
On September 13, the ODM leader's son also hit out at National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed.
He stated that the party director of elections had failed to uphold democracy in regard to the arrest of Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.
"Actually, Junet Mohamed as minority whip in the house and senior parliamentarian, I believe your position should be that even though you don’t necessarily agree with what Oscar Sudi said you’ll defend his right to say it. Freedom of speech is the cornerstone of our democracy," Junior rebuked.
However, the Suna MP maintained that he would not support Sudi.
Junet claimed that the controversial remarks made by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Emurua Dikirr's Johanna Ng'eno were sponsored by the DP.
"It is dishonest and old school for Ruto to send his people to insult other leaders including the president then pretend to tell them to stop. You cannot abuse leaders to gain power including mothers. You have no business insulting Mama Ngina because insulting her is insulting all mothers in this country."
"He has claimed that he made Raila Odinga Prime Minister and now says he made Uhuru Kenyatta President, I don't know why he is bitter because we are waiting for him to make himself President in 2022," Junet said.Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho pictured ahead of their trip to Dubai on July 9, 2020
