South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro calmed down his followers after an altercation occurred between them and the police who allegedly blocked him from attending an event held by Chief Justice David Maraga.

The CJ was launching a law court at Etago in Kisii County on Friday, October 2.

Osoro and his followers arrived later on and attempted to proceed to the event. They were frustrated after being locked outside the gate.

In a video which surfaced on Saturday, October 3, the agitated MP can be seen confronting an official while ranting.

His followers followed later on and chaos almost ensued between the two parties.

"He is the area MP and he cannot disrupt the event. We all know that the plan is to block him. You cannot intimidate our MP," a follower could be heard lamenting.

The MP walked away with a police officer to request for entry which he was later on granted.

Osoro is aligned with Deputy President William Ruto whose allies are pushing President Uhuru Kenyatta to dissolve the parliament for failing to enact the Two-Thirds Gender Rule. CJ Maraga issued the advisory to Kenyatta.

At the event, Maraga was proud of the milestone he had achieved by opening 17 court buildings

"It was 4 p.m. and I was a High Court Judge in Mombasa. The prosecutor asked me to listen to some witnesses who' had spent the previous night outdoors at the police station. I sat up to 8 p.m. That demonstrates how crucial it is to take justice close to wananchi.

"I am happy to launch Etago Court two weeks after it was gazetted, along with 16 other Magistrates Courts and 4 High Courts in different parts of the country," Maraga stated.
