Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Saturday, October 3, challenged Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju over his recent announcement barring Deputy President from using the party headquarters to operationalise his 2022 campaign.

Speaking in Bahati, Nakuru county, the Jubilee legislator stated that they would not back down after Tuju banned them from the offices.

"We will not give up, if you are spoiling for a fight and we will fight you to the end. You want us to leave and go where?" he posed.

He added that Tuju's actions were disrespectful to the MPs allied to the deputy president and they would not put up with the 'harassment'.

Kuria added that comments made that the leaders were fighting the president's agenda were false

"How can we fight our own work? We are telling Tuju if he stands down so shall we and work together moving forward," he stated.

On her part, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika questioned the contributions made by Tuju to the party.

"I pay Ksh10,000 every month to the party. How much do you (Tuju) pay while you are a Cabinet Secretary without portfolio earning a salary, who vetted you? You should be made to refund the money you are earning," she stated.

Tuju had on Friday, October 2, also stated that the party's National Management Committee had recommended to the National Executive Committee that Ruto should be suspended as the Deputy Party Leader after he opened the parallel Jubilee Asili offices.

"The DP, a self-declared 2022 presidential candidate, will not be allowed to use the party headquarters as a centre of operationalization for his campaigns and for intimidation," the Jubilee secretary general stated.

Following his announcement, Murkomen stated that it was not possible for the party to suspend Ruto as the Deputy Party Leader.

He quoted the Jubilee Constitution in article 33, which provides that the president of the Republic of Kenya shall be the Party leader and the Deputy President the Deputy Party leader.
