The family of the late Nairobi Billionaire Ramesh Gupta has put his entire 23-car collection on sale.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Thursday, November 5, Veeral Shah, one of the representatives overseeing the auction, noted that the fleet of cars was valued at between Ksh60 million and Ksh70 million.

He also revealed that the family had received a total of Ksh100 million bids for the vintage cars.

"Basically, the value that you are seeing on each vehicle is low scale value. That is the minimum value than the customers are biding for. Some are biding two or three times the value.

"The total value is about Ksh60 million. We have received offers in excess of Ksh100 million," stated Shah

He further noted that the cars would be shown to successful bidders after paying a non-refundable deposit.

A catalogue containing a personalised message from the late billionaire that possessed photos and details of the vintage cars on auction made rounds on social media platforms.

Ramesh was a car enthusiast who managed a car dealership and a side business in Nairobi's real estate with apartments in Eastleigh, CBD and Parklands.

"Cars were my lifetime collection, a hobby, my bread and butter (Car Dealers 1969 Ltd), my lifestyle and more importantly a treasure for my family.

"The classic cars and non-classics cars were mine but not anymore... They now belong to others to whom I'm sure will adore. Bring them to life! Let them have a run-around, for no one knows when and where they are bound," read a message from the billionaire.

Some of the cars on sale include a Mercedes Benz valued at Ksh9 million, a Bentley worth Ksh3.9 million, Chevrolet going for Ksh1.8 million and Ford worth Ksh2.5 million.

The bidding process is open until Friday, November 13, at 2 p.m.

Gupta's life was abruptly cut short in 2016 when he was attacked by thugs at his Parklands home during a night raid.

Gupta was hit in the head with an axe after the thugs broke into his compound as he slept in his bedroom.
