Former NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu has landed a new job at KTN.

Reliable sources at the media house intimated to Kenyans.co.ke that Mijungu joined on December 1 as his first working day.

Reports about Mijungu’s new job hit the interwebs after he was spotted within the company premises and further fuelled by a post on his social media that read, “Welcome Home” which is KTN’s slogan.

When reached for comment, the news anchor did not confirm or deny but stated that it would be a pleasure to work with the team at KTN.

Highly placed sources intimated that Mijungu would be unveiled as a news and assignment editor. He will also anchor news and host his own show just like Sidebar which he hosted at NTV.

“He probably doesn’t want to make an official announcement out of respect for many journalists who were fired from KTN at the end of November,” our source intimated.

Most of those affected in the mass layoff are journalists drawn from the TV division comprising KTN and KTN News as well as from the Standard Group's print division.

Among the affected are KTN Managing Editor Ellen Wanjiru and The Standard Sub-editor Anthony Malesi.

Mijungu is yet to update his profile which still reads “Former host, Sidebar on NTV”.

After exiting NTV in July, Mijungu concentrated on his businesses that include his law consultancy company, car imports and hire services and his newest 'Car Under One Million' business.

His love and passion for media have seen Mijungu return to the news industry.

He holds a CNN Africa Journalist Awards Special Commendation and among his biggest achievements include an exclusive interview with Deputy President William Ruto.

His former colleague at NTV, Harith Salim, also joined K24 TV as an anchor. Salim will work at the station's Swahili Department.
