Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday, December 2 hit out at Deputy President William Ruto for what he described as double standards.

Raila was speaking as he drummed up support for Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) during his visit to Kangari, Muranga County.

The ODM Party Leader detailed the historical injustices since independence to date as he noted that BBI was formulated to put an end to the iniquities.

Raila appeared to hit out at Ruto for his close association with the church and questioned his source of wealth after issuing a number of donations.

"I see some of the politicians travelling around in helicopters, carrying cash in sacks and distributing to churches. He claims that he wants to build the church and does not disclose his source of wealth.

"He is a wolf in sheep's clothing and that is why I and Uhuru sat down to solve all these problems so that Kenya can prosper," he explained.

Raila on Monday reiterated that there was no more time to allow changes on the proposed constitutional amendments under the BBI.

The African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development continued with his onslaught on Ruto as gave an analogy to describe him.

"He is like someone who wants to slaughter a hen. They usually lure the hen with a few cereals in order to capture it and ends up eating it.

"He is never interested in the hen's well being but the hen itself. He is not interested in helping people by giving out money, he has his own selfish interests.

This came barely hours after Ruto issued a press conference after a meeting with seven Governors, around 150 MPs at his Karen residence.

Despite a number of Kenyans expecting the second in command to issue a stand on BBI, the DP did not give a decisive stance on whether he would support the yes or no option in the referendum process.
