  • Nairobi Metropolitan Services boss Mohammed Badi has revealed that the new Green Park terminus will host a supermarket and a hotel.

A report by Business Daily on Thursday, December 17, indicated that that the termini will also have a dispensary and a police station.

The supermarket and hotel are expected to offer employment to Kenyans while the police station will provide security to the facility nearing completion.

The dispensary on the other hand, will be put up to provide medical assistance in case of emergencies at the terminus.

"The dispensary is done and we are currently looking for funds to equip it. Once the terminus is launched, the dispensary will be running," stated Badi.

The boss further noted that his administration had advertised for a contract for the setting up of the restaurant at the facility.

It will benefit commuters at the termini who will ply Ngong Road and Lang'ata Road.

"Two modern abluitions will also be set up at Green Park, one at the drop-off point and another at the pickup point.

"They will be set up in a manner that will be conducive for everyone including the physically challenged and children," he added.

The green park terminus at Railways Club is expected to have a capacity of 110 matatus.

The terminus is among the newly designated termini constructed by NMS as part of the Nairobi Integrated Urban Development Master Plan and Decongestion Strategy under which PSVs will terminate their commute outside the CBD.

At the same time, the Fig Tree Terminus at Ngara will serve matatus from Waiyaki Way, Uhuru Highway, Kipande and Limuru roads.
