Fresh details have emerged regarding the robbery incident at Billionaire Manu Chandaria's home in Muthaiga estate, Nairobi County.
Investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives revealed that the robbery, which occurred on Sunday night, December 13, was a well-executed plan which involved three suspects who are still at large.
Police reports revealed that a suspect, part of the grand scheme, was a former employee of the security firm's alarm response department.
Police believe that the said suspect could have been behind the tampering of the security alarm on the night of the attack.
Telephone records from the security firm are still under investigation.
The suspects at large were also linked to the police officers tasked with manning Chandaria's residence.
This was according to the data retrieved from the mobile phone of the officers in custody by the detectives.
An anonymous source who spoke to a local media house noted that the police had turned their attention towards the domestic workers in Chandaria's home.
They sought to establish whether there was collusion between the workers and the suspects in question.
A brown envelope and rubber bands had also been retrieved from the Karura forest where the suspects are said to have escaped.
According to the police, the envelope carried the loot while the bands were used to tie the money stolen.
A report released by Muthaiga police station also showed that the security personnel failed to respond to the distress call from Chandaria and his wife as soon as the attack ensued.
