For instance, during a mathematics lesson, Isaac uses fingers or other body parts to count. The pupils often copy the teacher's mannerisms during the lessons.

Speaking to a local media house, Isaac confirmed the deplorable state of the school.

In regards to the teachers' situation, he noted that parents of the children had gone to the extent of offering to pay teachers' salaries in order for teachers to be enrolled in the school.

The majority of schools across the country have been dealing with various challenges since schools reopened on Monday, January 4.

In some cases, students, especially those living in remote areas, are forced to drop out due to lack of enough teachers and infrastructure within schools.

In a nearby school at Sugut Primary school based in Baringo County, only seven girls out of 140 learners reported to school.

The school only consists of one teacher who also serves as the headteacher.

Recently, a video doing rounds on social media showing two classes taught by different teachers within the same classroom surfaced.

The students found it hard to concentrate as the two respective teachers were speaking over each other.
