The husband of Elizabeth Koki Musyoki, a prominent lawyer who was found dead at her Syokimau home in Machakos County has mourned Koki as a caring and loving mother.

Edwin Githinji, who had separated with Koki, spoke during the burial of the lawyer on Friday, January 22.

"You remain my friend and companion in all circumstances. You took care of our two sons and for that, we choose not to cry but celebrate you and thank God for blessing us with you," Githinji stated.

He praised the deceased as a great mother who was passionate about her job.

Autopsy results released by Government pathologist Johansen Oduor indicated that Koki was suffocated to death. He stated that the deceased suffered injuries on the mouth which were consistent with a gag.

A Congolese National, Christian Kadima, has since been arrested in connection to the murder. He was allegedly the last person spotted leaving Koki's house on the night detectives believe the lawyer was killed.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two were in a relationship and that they were having an argument on the night Koki died. The heated argument was purportedly due to photos found on Kadima's phone.

Quizzed by detectives, Kadima stated that Koki fell from the bed and hit her head. He explained that he left the deceased unconscious and drove off in her car to the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD), where he met a friend and narrated what had taken place.

Koki's parents mourned her as an achiever who brought them so much joy.

"Your determination in life and high achiever attitude made as proud," David Nzuki and Margaret Kamene, Koki's parents stated.
