After being discharged, the anchor proceeded to Sagana to cover the meeting.

President Kenyatta is currently on day two of the 4-day meeting at the Sagana State Lodge with Mt Kenya leaders.

Kenyatta will spend three more days in Nyeri and will meet MPs, Senators and Governors to discuss the region’s politics and development matters.

On Friday, January, 29, Uhuru pleaded with Mt Kenya leaders to delink his succession politics from the BBI process.

I never said we shall elect so and so. I only said we shall support whoever was more popular than the others and I said we should widen our circle of friends so that we are safe, whoever is in power,” he said.

He further thanked the county legislators for endorsing the BBI process saying the reforms will strengthen devolution thereby accelerating Kenya's socio-economic transformation.

Kenyatta noted that contrary to the misleading narrative propagated by few selfish individuals opposed to BBI, the reforms would help unite the country by ensuring equality and fairness in the distribution of national resources.

He questioned the motive of those opposed to the equal allocation of national resources to all parts of the country and cautioned Kenyans against politics of deceit perfected by some leaders.

“It is our responsibility as leaders to ensure we do justice and not to threaten or insult others. We need to ensure justice and development for those who elected us,” the President stated adding that his biggest wish for Kenya was unity and progress.
