Private detective Jane Mugo caused drama in court during an emotional confrontation with journalists from NTV.

Mugo arrived at the court precincts in Nairobi on Wednesday, February 3 to find a group of reporters waiting for her at the entrance and asked one of the reporters, “Are you not tired of this story? Follow me if you are man enough”.

She was escorted into the courtroom by her bodyguards who were dressed in black suits, with the journalists in tow.

The private detective accused the reporters of soliciting money from suspects after taking their photos.

“Take a picture or you tell me to pose for one. Are you not tired of making me trend? Don’t provoke me,” she warned while gesturing to the reporters.

Mugo claimed that journalists were kicked out of the mention of the case due to their conduct.

She then jumped from her seat at the dock and started filming the journalists saying “Let me take your faces tupatane huko nje (we’ll meet outside)”.

As emotions flared, the private detective became teary, with her voice cracking. A police officer gestured at her to calm down as the magistrate entered the courtroom.

Mugo had shown up in court after the magistrate gave her a final warning for failing to attend a criminal trial on Monday, February 1.

She, however, presented a medical report, proving she was unwell that day.

The private detective is facing charges for allegedly threatening to kill a man on February 4, 2019.

The magistrate scheduled the trial to begin on March 22, 2021.
