Popular matatu Sacco, Super Metro, on Wednesday, February 10, announced job vacancies as it moves to introduce new routes in Nairobi.
The matatus currently operate in Kikuyu Route 105, Thika road, Juja 236 to Makongeni 237 and has started to expand to more routes in Nairobi and periphery towns.
The matatu operator, however, faced resistance when it launched its Ngong - Nairobi CBD service on Wednesday with established rival Saccos halting their operations in protest of the cheaper rates Super Metro is charging. As a result, there was a transport crisis along Ngong Road from Karen, with commuters welcoming the new SACCO.
With the New Nairobi CDB - Ngong route, the Super Metro seeks to fill job opportunities for various positions.
"The jobs on offer are crew members - drivers and conductors as well as route marshalls," the Sacco stated in a notice.
Basic requirements for drivers
1. 3 passport photos(Colored)
2. A valid certificate of good conduct
3. Driving license (colored)
4. NHIF and NSSF cards
5.Your credentials
6. ID copy
7. A release letter from your previous employer
8. Any other necessary documents

All interested applicants are requested to send their applications to the Sacco office in Njengi House 7th floor Tom Mboya Street.
The company did not state how many people it was looking for or issue an application deadline. A majority of commuters that use Super Metro have commended the Sacco for being affordable as well as organised.
Drivers who get employed by the SACCO undergo a defensive driving class.
"This is a learning session extended to all our drivers and our main aim is to ensure our drivers achieve more," the company stated in July 2020.
