Other places that are expected to have an outage today, Thursday 11, include; Utalii, parts of Madaraka, Mbagathi way, Ngumo, parts of Jogoo road and parts of Elgeyo Marakwet.

The electricity distributors added that the technical teams are carrying out repairs to restore power supply.

KPLC advises customers to report an outage by calling 97771 in case a neighborhood or region has a power blackout.

In addition, residents are expected to keep clear of lines or electrical equipment and stay at least 10 metres away from power lines or poles and keep pets and children away from the lines.

Residents are also advised to turn off lights except for outside security lights which will help the technical team know if power has been restored.

"When power has been restored, please use it sparingly during the first few hours to prevent system overload, which can cause further outages," KPLC advises.

If you have a standby heating unit, ensure that it is properly vented and turn it on before the house gets too cold.

In addition, keep the refrigerator and freezer closed as much as possible. The contents should be good for 24-48 hours if the door is kept closed.

KPLC will be affected following power interruptions required for network maintenance.
