105 Test positive As Covid-19 Cases Rise

105 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 3,573 tested in the last 24 hours.

This takes Kenya's cumulative confirmed positive cases to 104,306.

In a statement on Monday, February 22, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe disclosed that the total tests conducted so far are 1,269,346.

From the positive cases recorded in the last 24 hours, 88 are Kenyans while 17 are foreigners. 72 are male while 33 are female

The youngest is that of an eleven-year old while the eldest is 82 years.

49 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. 34 are from the Home Based Isolation and Care while 15 are from various health facilities. Total recoveries now stand at 85,627.

Sadly, 4 patients have succumbed to the disease pushing our cumulative fatality to 1,827 .

There are 333 patients currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,281 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.

51 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 23 of whom are on ventilator support and 23 on supplemental oxygen. 4 patients are on observation. Another 9 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 8 of them in the general wards. 

In terms of Sub County distribution; the 68 cases in Nairobi are from  Dagoretti  North (10),  Westlands (8), Embakasi  East, Embakasi West and Lang'ata (5) cases each, Embakasi North, Kasarani, Kibra and Roysambu (4) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi Central and Mathare (3) cases each, Embakasi South, Kamukunji, Makadara, Ruaraka and Starehe (2) cases each.

In Kiambu the     12 cases are from Ruiru     (4), Kiambu Town and Thika (3) cases each, Limuru (1). In Laikipia the 5 cases are from Laikipia East (4) and Laikipia West (1). In Kajiado the 4 cases are from Kajiado East and Kajiado North (2) cases each. In Mombasa the 3 cases are from Mvita (2) and Nyali (1). In Machakos the 3 cases are from Athi River (2) and Mwala (1).

The 2 cases in Nakuru are from Naivasha and Nakuru East with (1) case each, the 2 cases in Nyeri are all from Nyeri Central and the 2 cases in Uasin Gishu are from Ainabkoi and Moiben (1) case each. The case in Kericho is from Ainamoi, the case in Kisumu is from Kisumu Central, the ease in Kwale is from Msambweni and the case in Mandera is from Mandera East.
