Media celebrity Betty Kyallo has returned to KTN, nearly three years after quitting the Standard Media Group station for K24 TV in 2018.

Through her social media pages, Kyallo announced that she had made a comeback to the media house and would be back on air on Sunday, March 7.

"She is back! I told you (my break) wouldn't last long. I am blessed and grateful to God," she said.

Sources at Standard Media told Kenyans.co.ke that Kyallo will be hosting a show on KTN Home alongside comedian Eric Omondi. The two have been posting snippets of the upcoming program on their social media pages to keep their followers guessing.

An insider who will be working closely with Kyallo disclosed that she will be shooting the show at KTN studios with an option for an outdoor shoot also being considered.

Others played cagey with her return, saying that she would only be hosting the show and not anchoring news. However, they said that discussions between Kyallo and the management were still underway.

One of Kyallo's closest friends also shed more insights into her contract and confirmed that she was back for the show at the moment.

"She'll launch a show with Eric Omondi on March 7. I cannot give out more information. Nonetheless, she will be hosting the show for a long time and it's not a one-time event," the friend who sought anonymity told Kenyans.co.ke

Kyallo left KTN News in July 2018, where she used to host Friday Briefing show alongside anchoring news. At K24, she hosted Upclose With Betty before quitting on Saturday night, May 30, 2020

The anchor alongside other top journalists, inclusing comedians like Jalang'o, left the Mediamax Network Limited after the company directed them to take pay cuts. This was after the Covid-19 pandemic affected advertising and other revenue streams.

"I really appreciate you all. It is now time for me to say goodbye here at K24 TV. Thank you so much for all the support, I appreciate you, God bless you and I love you," she stated after hosting her last show.

Kyallo launched her own digital show, Betty Kyallo Lately, which streamed on her YouTube pages. In 2020, she was voted as one of the top social media influencers in Kenya 2020.
