Kenya's telecommunication service provider, Safaricom, is set to launch a video content platform by the name Baze.

In the new development, the platform will provide a revenue split of 60% to the content providers and 40% to Safaricom.

The service provider, has additionally, launched a monthly show by the name Baze Creators Garage, a show in which digital authorities in Kenya will have various content conversations.

The show will be hosted by Digital Enabler Richard 'Astar' Njau every first Monday of the month from 8pm to 9pm.

"From digital tax to content monitization, we'll be talking about all things content. It's a place where content creators will be able to find all things content," Njau told Kenyans.co.ke.

Some of the influencers that were present during the launch of 'Baze Creators Garage' include; comedian Eric Omondi, artist Kennedy Ombina (King Kaka), Sharon Mundia (This is Ess) and Eunice Wanjiru (Mammito).

The launch was also attended by Safaricom Customer Digital Products and Services Head Fawzia  Ali-Kimanthi, Director of Customer Unit Business Charles Kare and  MobiMedia CEO Tim Legg.

In yet another unveil, Safaricom launched the second edition of the ‘Browse Bila Waas’ campaign that will see customers enjoy free 500MB daily bonus data with every purchase of a personalized no-expiry data bundle.

Both Prepay and PostPay customers can access their personalised data bundles on *544# under the option “0” – Special Data Deals.

Upon purchase of the bundle, which is available every day until 23rd May 2021, customers will instantly receive a bonus of 500MB data valid until midnight of the same day.

Growing demand for data has seen Safaricom partner with Google to enable its customers to acquire quality 4G devices via flexible payment plans.
