Education CS Prof. George Magoha has shown his nurturing side when he shared words of inspiration with candidates who are expected to sit for the KCSE examination later in March.

Speaking to students at Chavakali High School, Vihiga County on March 6, the CS advised the learners not to panic due to the exams urging them to stay calm.

"Do not worry about the examination. We are aware you were at home for nine months, so your hope must remain alive. Do not get stressed. If you believe in God, you will all pass,” he assured the students.

He further stated that the syllabus had been covered adding that there was no need for anxiety.

Prof Magoha further told the candidates that cheating would not help them noting that each of them was intelligent.

The CS also advised against negativity and scare-mongering among the teachers, students and parents.

He added that they were not expecting much difference from the previous year's results.

On the leakage of examinations, Prof Magoha assured that no exam questions had been obtained by unauthorised people.

He warned parents and candidates against falling for fraudsters claiming to have acquired the examination papers.

Earlier on, while launching the national examinations season, CS Magoha detailed a number of measures that would be undertaken to ensure the security of the papers.

He added that the government was aware of plans that some centre managers are planning to retain teachers employed by the Board of Management (BOM) in schools to aid cheating.

"The examination centres with such plans have been identified and are being monitored closely. It's important for all of us to ensure that all headteachers and other persons steer a credible examination process," he stated conveying that the ministry would not tire in dealing with any form of examination cheating.
