Nairobi MCA Anne Thumbi has claimed that her son with the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth risks being kicked out of school due to lack of school fees.

A report by Business Daily on Thursday, March 11, indicated that the nominated MCA moved to court seeking to block Parliament from releasing the late MP's funds to his widow Monica Lavender until she receives Ksh148,000 she argues was meant for the school of her son.

She also sought to have Parliament award her reasonable upkeep money to help keep the child in school.

In the documents, Thumbi further accused Lavender of refusing to disclose Okoth's assets and plotting to disown her child's legitimacy to the estate.

“The Executor (Monica) has failed to disclose in her affidavit a key asset nor indicate the value of funds held in the bank, shares held in the Parliament Sacco nor the value of the pension,” she stated.

Thumbi's son was introduced to his first family in August 2019 after former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko revealed Thumbi as Okoth's 'second and secret wife'.

Sonko dropped the bombshell at Moi Girls, Nairobi, in the presence of Okoth’s widow, Monica Okoth, his brother Imran Okoth and top leaders like ODM leader, Raila Odinga and other leaders.

“In 2013, Ken invited me to medical camp at Kibra. I was with the Sonko rescue team and as a governor, let me say the truth. There were beautiful nurses belonging to my rescue team and Ken loved a girl known as Ann Thumbi alias Anita," Sonko revealed at the time.

A DNA test which was released in September 2019 confirmed that the child was legitimately sired by the former MP.

Okoth passed away in July 2019 after a long battle with colon cancer.
