Thousands of Kenyans who applied for 4,433 government jobs through the Public Service Commission (PSC) can now confirm if they have been appointed to serve in the different ministerial capacities.
PSC, on Tuesday, March 16, published the names of the the successful candidates in My Gov Newspaper, a pullout in local daily which can also be accessed digitally on the commission's website.
In the 17 page notice, the commission noted that the successful appointees had already been posted to their respective ministries where they are expected to begin serving.
The appointments arose from the jobs that were advertised between June and March 2021.
In the first quarter, the advertisements were made between June and September 2020, Quarter 2, the application were made between August and December 2020 while in Quarter 3, the appointments were between January and March.
The job applications ranged from lecturers, medical lab technologists, radiographers to nursing officers.
In the first quarter, 1,889 emerged successful while 1,669 secured appointments in the second quarter and a further 857 bagged Ministry jobs in the third quarter.
The appointees were deployed in the Ministries of Agriculture, Defence, Foreign Affairs, East African Community, Health and Public Service & Gender.
Other government institutions included Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS), National Treasury, Ministry of ICT, Interior, Petroleum and Mining.
Since June, the commission often advertised thousands of jobs on its portal as well as in the local dailies for various positions including 700 posts in the Ministry of Interior.
In most of the vacancies, the applicants were expected apply through PSC portal by registering an account and providing personal details such as ID / Passport Number, Surname, current Email address and a password to access the system.
