Ksh60 million will go towards the refurbishment of different offices in the City Hall. This is according to the County Annual Development Plan (CADP).

For the re-roofing of the City Hall, a total of Ksh40 million will be used while for repainting works Ksh15 million will be used.

Ksh10 million will be used for the refurbishment of washrooms in various offices at the county government with the aim of providing a conducive working environment to the employees.

The City Hall Annex has in the past been expressing technical difficulties like failing lifts. This has forced seeking those seeking services at the different offices in the City Hall to use the staircases which are always dark due to frequent power blackouts.

Starting July 1, the county employees will be entitled to Ksh500 million in mortgages and car loans.

This was reached after the county assembly approved the Nairobi County Annual Development Plan for the 2021/2022 financial year.

This will see an increment in the Public Service Management docket budget to Ksh2.7 billion from Ksh708 million.

Speaking on March 9, the Public Service Management County Executive, Vesca Kangogo, said that her department had been pushing for the funds.

“All the members of staff are eligible for the car loan and mortgage irrespective of their cadre. Given that the funds have already been approved, the scheme will be effective by July this year,” Kangogo said.

The county government has also set aside Ksh100 million for voluntary early retirement. This will be eligible for county staff aged above fifty-five years and it will be done with the aim of getting rid of the old workforce.
