Politician and Kenya National Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako intervenes as auctioneers sell his Land Cruiser V8 at Ksh1.2 million.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the politician confirmed that he intervened the sale and repossessed his car.
"It was not auctioned I intervened. I have my car," he noted
In an earlier statement, the politician claimed that it was unfair for Jakacha Auctioneers, a company he claimed was owned by Kakamega businessman Meja Malalah David and his brother, to undervalue his car.
Meja is the father to Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala whom Panyako ran against in the 2017 general election.
To prove his case, Panyako shared a screenshot of the approved auction dated March 30, 2021.
"Meja Malalah David and your Brother Charles Malalah. My V8 cannot be valued at Ksh1.2m. This is how you have been stealing from the Kakamega residence over years.
"This time around you will know that I am a son of Panyako from Kabras land. I will make sure you pay back all the things you have stolen," stated Panyako.
Panyako unsuccessfully ran for the Kakamega Senatorial seat but was beaten by the incumbent Cleaophas Malala.
Later, the politician, who ran for the seat under the Orange Democratic Movement Party, claimed that the election was rigged and attempted to eject Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati.
In his suit, Panyako claimed that Kakamega returning officer announced an incorrect figure.
The court, however, dismissed the suit and ordered him to pay legal costs to the IEBC and Malala. The electoral body later accused him of attempting to blackmail them in a bid to avert litigation costs owed to them.
Panyako is said to have failed to settle the election costs against Malala which prompted auctioneers to dispose of his car.
Land Cruiser V8 costs between Ksh12 million and Ksh14 million.
