Newly-recruited NTV anchor Fridah Mwaka has revealed that she tailors her own outfits for news bulletins

In an interview on Friday, April 30, Mwaka disclosed that she was a fashion designer with her own clothing line.

"I learnt to tailor from my mother who taught me how to be self-dependent. After Campus, I set up the House of Kichuna and that's where I make the outfits I wear on-air," she revealed.

The former KTN anchor added that she also got a liking to making her own clothes after not easily accessing outfits she liked from stores.

Mwaka while anchoring news at KTN showcased a variety of stylish outfits and even her colleagues including Lofy Matambo and Zubeida Kananu Koome.

The journalist also stated that she had a business where she specialised in making Coastal foods.

She also revealed that her colleague Matambo played a huge role in getting her a job at KTN.

"He helped me prepare for the auditions of the show, "The Presenter". He helped me in making voice-overs where he would send me scripts to read on my way to the interview.

As it turns out, one of the scripts he had me do was what I presented before the panel and that is what got me through to the show," she revealed.

The two went on to become good friends and even released a song together in 2020. The duo released a song on the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on the country.

The song, she explained was meant to give hope to Kenyans, that life would go back to normal.

The duo moved from KTN to the Nation Media Group station and will be co-hosting the 7 pm bulletin.
