Charles Rasugu, the anti-graft agency central region manager, stated that the raid was targeting Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia's office.

"They took some documents from the governor's secretary and the finance office to help us crack the case that emanated from the tender issued in 2019," Rasungu told the Standard.

He added that no official had been arrested so far regarding the matter.

The tender in question is reportedly linked to the son of a senior government official.

The raid came a day after Kimemia was blamed for Jubilee's poor performance in Rurii Ward which was won by UDA candidate Francis Muraya.

Jubilee MPs and allied bloggers claimed that the loss was a protest against the Governor after he was picked to head the Jubilee campaigns.

Earlier, Nyandarua County Assembly Speaker Ndegwa Wahome was impeached. He was impeached over gross misconduct, abuse of office and nepotism.

It is suspected that some of the issues that could have led to his impeachment include; his stand on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill and a rift between him and the governor.

He had previously accused the governor of failing to to implement his development agenda.
