The family of Felix Orinda (DJ Evolve) has dismissed rumours circulating on social media that he has passed on following an injury that he got from a gunshot wound.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, his father John Orinda, stated that he was shocked to learn about the rumours after getting many calls to confirm on the same.

"It is a lie. I have been called and been asked whether it is true and I was so shocked but I want to clarify that is false," John stated.

Updating on the DJ's health, John stated that Evolve still had a device on his throat and cannot talk audibly.

"Why would anyone start spreading false news regarding my son. It is really bad, I had to call his brother to confirm how he was doing," he added.

His statement was backed up by that of his brother Andrew Orinda who indicated that Evolve was recuperating well at their home in Fedha estate.

“God forbid, those are very dangerous rumours and I can assure you that he is okay and even having lunch,” he told K24 Digital.

The entertainer has been bedridden since he was shot at while at work.

Embakasi MP Babu Owino was in January 2020 arrested by detectives after he was accused of shooting Evolve at the B Club located along Galana Road within Kilimani.

However, later that month on January 27, 2020, the legislator was granted a cash bail of Ksh10 million, which he was asked to pay in four instalments over a four-month period.
