Seven police units, on Tuesday, June 15, raided a Chinese nationals mansion located at Kaputei Garden, Ivyland Park Court - in Kileleshwa. Nairobi.
The units were drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kitui, Nairobi headquarters and Kilimani, Diplomat Police, United Nations Security, Kileleshwa Police officers and National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) officers.
According to a police report filed at Kileleshwa Police Station, the officers were making a subsequent follow up after arresting the Chinese with a pistol four days ago.
The foreigner was apprehended along Mwingi-Garissa Road on Friday, June 11 after another multi-agency team successfully tracked and waylaid him.
At the Chinese's Kileleshwa mansion, police recovered an assault rifle parked in its case, loaded with 5 rounds of special pellets and hidden inside a wardrobe.
Police, however, did not disclose the contents or type of pellets they seized.
In the master bedroom, police found a CZ pistol loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.
They also retrieved two Taurus revolvers each loaded with three rounds of ammunition.
In a separate room, they seized a bag containing 205 rounds of ammunition.
"The search at the house is still ongoing," police stated.
They, nonetheless, declined to comment on whether the Chinese foreigner was linked to any criminal activity and insisted that they would cross-check his credentials and whether the guns were registered.
