    "The wife also taught us. We gave them as many gifts as we could," Amollo stated.

    He added that they were grateful to have been taught by the school head who they described as a disciplinarian and understanding teacher

    "We thank mwalimu for making us who we have become," the renowned lawyer and ODM party member added.

    The classmates posed for photos with the elderly teacher and his wife reminisced on their old days and also shared a meal together.

    They also presented him with his portrait, inscribed;

    "Thank you for opening our wings, for allowing us to grow while trusting us to fly and shine!"

    Other students who were nurtured by the tutor also commented on Amollo's post.

    "Thank you Maranda Team 89. Mwalimu Akunja, the disciplinarian, shaped my early years at Ngere High School, just before Maranda," Hezekiah Bunde appreciated.

    "Very good gesture. Let's remember those who sacrificed to ensure our future is successful," one Kipchumba added.
