Traditional Healer Ambilikile Mwasapile alias Babu wa Loliondo who captivated Kenyans has passed on Friday, July 30, in Arusha, Tanzania after a short illness.
According to his family member Eric Nambolo, Babu had been unwell for two weeks and died at around 4 pm while being rushed to hospital.
Babu was a retired priest of the Lutheran Church before he claimed that God appeared to him in a dream and showed him a herb that could cure all illnesses, including HIV within seven days.
The miracle healer used water and the herb to make a concoction that he sold for 500 Tanzanian shillings which translates to Ksh25 per cup.
As word spread of his supposed ability to cure any disease, thousands of ailing people including Kenyans flocked to his home in northern Tanzania to have a cup of the so-called miracle drink.
Between the years of 2010 and 2012, Babu had already administered the single-cup dose to more than 6 million people, however, questions began to arise when some of those he supposedly cured died or became severely ill.
Some people were even taken out of the hospital by their relatives who believed they could be cured by the retired priest but some of them died even before seeing him, while others still are reported to have died after taking his concoction.
He however claimed that his cure had been dismissed by defamation of character and propaganda by medical doctors and non-Governmental Organizations.
