Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday, August 4, disclosed why he and ODM leader Raila Odinga cannot work together again.

Speaking during an interview on Inooro FM, the DP stated that he and Odinga were working on two different economic models, making it impossible to have a common ground.

Ruto reiterated that the ODM leader was working on the trickle-down economic model while he was fixated on the bottom-up approach.

"How can we work together? While he is saying change the constitution to have tribal kings in government, I am saying that we should help the hustlers," stated Ruto.

"He is talking of trickle-down, I am talking of bottom-up. We cannot work together clearly, we are competitors."

The DP affirmed that he and Odinga were competitors and Kenyans would decide who will clinch the top seat come 2022.

Asked whether he was working on forming a coalition with any other party, the DP stated that he was not, adding that he was banking on the hustlers to vote for him.

Further, the DP accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his allies of being out to frustrate him.

He mentioned his blocked trip to Uganda, the purge on his allies in both Parliament and Senate as ways in which the state was exasperating him.

“For four years, people have been saying things to me. Oh, I don’t know Ruto is competing with the President, I don’t know he has disrespected the President… All these things I have denied. Even that Wilson issue is to put me in a position to argue with them. I have left them to God,” he stated.
