The media fraternity is mourning the death of Radio Africa Group journalist, Corazon Wafula.
Corazon was attached to the Group's Star Newspaper, Mpasho and Radio Jambo.
The journalist died on Saturday, August 21, following a short illness. Colleagues confirmed that she was undergoing treatment at a Machakos hospital.
On Friday, her colleagues at the Star Newspaper were fundraising to help her cover the medical bills, only to receive the news of her demise on Saturday morning.
Corazon covered political news and court developments during her time at the Star.
The family is yet to issue a statement on burial preparations and date. She is survived by one child.
Last week, Corazon covered the bail hearing of two suspects in the kidnapping of Eastleigh businesswoman, Hafsa Lukman.
Her death comes five months after the demise of her colleague at the Radio Africa Group, Reuben Githinji, who reportedly succumbed to complications linked to the Covid-19.
Githinji's sister, Grace Wacheke, confirmed the news noting that the scribe succumbed to the virus on the morning of Wednesday, March 24, 2021, while receiving treatment at Murang'a Hospital.
At the time of his death, Githinji worked as The Star Newspaper's Embu reporter and was aged 52 years.
