Back To The Drawing Board
President Uhuru Kenyatta has called for a third meeting with the principals of One Kenya Alliance (OKA) and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
The meeting is slated for August,25 at State House Mombasa.
A report has revealed that the planned union is meant to curate a contingency plan as a result of the appellate court rejecting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Moreover, the meeting will feature discussions to endorse a final flagbearer ahead of the 2022 General Election.
In The Interest of The Masses
A section of legislators allied to DP Ruto has vowed to have President Uhuru return Ksh13.5 billion of taxpayers’ funds spent on pushing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Aldai MP Cornel Serem further denigrated the BBI process. He called out the Head of State for not seeking authority to spend money to popularize the now failed initiative.
Life Goes On
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga called for a meeting with the party members starting August 23. While speaking in Mombasa county on August 22, he revealed that the meeting will have members converge to chart the way forward, following the flop of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
"It is time to move on as a party. The party will be holding PG sometime next week and we will be charting the way forward," Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir remarked as he accompanied Odinga.

The Wrath Of A Gentleman
Jimmy Kibaki shed light on a rare moment of anger expressed by his father, former president Mwai Kibaki. The latter is fondly remembered by many as calm, composed, and an excellent orator.
However, at one point hell almost broke loose, as revealed by his son Jimmy. It was in the advent of the 2013 General Election that former president Mwai Kibaki learnt of how some of his handlers had attempted to block Uhuru Kenyatta from accessing State House. So enraged was the then Head of State that he yelled and almost fired the then State House comptroller.
The Price To Pay
The Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) has fined a consortium of 32 gas suppliers Ksh408,000 for exploiting Kenyans.
They were accused of conniving to fix the minimum prices of 6kg and 13kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. The suppliers then entered into a settlement agreement where they were fined Ksh408,000.
Memories Are Everything
International Dancehall artist Sean Paul reminisced his experiences of his 2004 trip to Kenya. He recounted how critical the tour was to the growth of his music career. His brief Kenyan experience inspired the star’s music to be more critical of humanity.
Sean Paul also cleared rumours that his phone was stolen as he performed at the Carnivore Simba Saloon in Nairobi. Paul stated to Nation that he lost it on transit while connecting through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to Dar es Salaam.
