The family of the infamous Kianjokoma brothers from Embu County is grieving yet another death after their grandmother died from the trauma of losing her grandchildren.
Gladys Embu died in what close family members say was because of depression arising from high blood pressure, resulting from the death of her two grandsons.
According to the family, the 94-year-old granny went silent from the stress of learning the untimely death of her beloved grandsons - Benson Njiru Ndwiga, 22, and Emmanuel Mutura Ndwiga,19.
"She was a strong woman but after learning of the deaths of her two grandsons, she would come to the homestead and never speak to anyone," revealed Felix Nthiga, the family spokesperson.
The nonagenarian would regularly visit her two grandsons as her home is only located two kilometres away from where her grandsons lived.
The family added that it was finalizing the burial of Embu which is set to happen tomorrow, Wednesday, August 25.
The brothers were allegedly beaten up by police for flouting the 10 pm-4 am curfew on Sunday, August 1, leading to their death.
Six police officers reported to have been involved in the murder of the two boys were arraigned in Milimani Law Courts at Upper Hill in Nairobi on Tuesday, August, 17.
The arraignment followed after the Independent Policing Oversight Authority, (IPOA) concluded their investigations and revealed the names and ranks of the six police officers who were being investigated over the death of two Kianjokoma brothers.
The six were detained by a Milimani court for 14 days as the investigations to the death of the two boys are ongoing.
