The Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has warned Kenyans against voting for Deputy President William Ruto or former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Nandi County on Tuesday, August 31, Mudavadi asked Kenyans not to vote in Raila or Ruto, terming them as angry leaders.

The ANC leader, who is also a presidential hopeful, claimed that not only are the two leaders angry, but they are bitter and that means they have no capacity to lead the country.

“When you see Ruto's face, anger, when you see Raila's face, anger. You see anger, you see bitterness," the ANC party leader stated.

Mudavadi argued that he was the best person fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta as he is a happy leader and does not harbor any bitterness.

"I am asking you Kenyans, when you look at me, do you see anger? Do you see bitterness?" posed Mudavadi.

The former Vice President blushed off calls by Nandi Governor, Stephen Sang, who asked him to forge an alliance with the Deputy President ahead of the August 9, 2022 polls.

Sang claimed that Mudavadi was wasting time attending meetings in State House as President Uhuru Kenyatta had already settled on Raila as his successor.

The Governor also urged Mudavadi to work on forming an alliance in Western Kenya in order to dilute Raila's dominance in the area.

In response, Mudavadi said he did not see a need to form a regional alliance but was focused on building a party that promotes national unity and diversity.

The ANC party leader also dismissed claims that he was Uhuru's project, stating that he is his own man. He added that he was a national leader and would personally go to the electorate in search of votes.

“At no time has President Uhuru asked me to support Raila, those spreading the propaganda should stop forthwith,” he affirmed.

Musalia has maintained his presidential bid, a sentiment echoed by ANC, which insisted that the 2022 election would be a three-horse race.

The One Kenya Alliance (OKA) has, however, not revealed who among Gideon Moi, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula or Mudavadi will be their flag bearer.

Mudavadi was attending the burial ceremony of Mama Ezinah Kaluhi Swadi, the late wife of Hon Jackson Swadi, the ANC MCA for Kibwareng Ward, Nandi County.
