State House Comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua is the latest senior civil servant joining in the attack against Deputy President William Ruto ahead of next year's elections.

He criticised the deputy president's habit of taking on an administration that he is still part of.

Mbugua, who accompanied ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi to a fundraiser in aid of St Cecilia Catholic Church in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua, cast doubts into Ruto's sincerity and his promises.

"There are people whose only goal is to get into the State House next year. They are self-centred. They are the architects of derailing development during Uhuru's term," the State House aide noted.

The State House Comptroller questioned the DP's opposition to a unity pact with other leaders, accusing him of speaking from both sides of his mouth.

"These are people who feel angered when they see the President uniting the country and its leaders. They want us to keep seeing each other as enemies," he added.

He joins a growing list of senior civil servants who have come out to publicly criticise the deputy president after his fallout with the president.

His comments come in the wake where various current and retired senior civil servants have been seen attacking the deputy president.

Former State House Comptroller in President Mwai Kibaki's regime also criticised Ruto over what he described as undermining President Kenyatta.

Earlier on, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i told Parliament that Ruto was seeking sympathy after the change in his security detail.

Another recent attack on the deputy president came from ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru, who accused the Deputy president of misleading the youth with his 'hustler' narrative.

The holder of the office of the State House Comptroller is in charge of Finance and Administration but carries added responsibilities of being the president’s private secretary

He ensures that all functions from transport, security, communication, catering and general administration are not only well funded but also properly performed.

State House Comptrollers also work with the president’s doctor to ensure that health checks are done as scheduled.
