A 15-year-old boy who had been stranded on the streets of Nairobi was on Thursday, September 16, reunited with his father following a police officers' intervention.

Police officer Samuel Ngare attached to Nakuru police station told Kenyans.co.ke that Lameck Nyangenya was found by his colleague, officer Emmanuel Menye Lemaiyan.

Lemaiyan sought intervention from Ngare, who had been responsible for previous missing boys and girls being found by posting on his social platforms.

"Lemaiyan reached out to me over the matter and I posted the information on my platforms in order to spread the word."

"In the meantime, the boy stayed under the care of officer Lemaiyan," Ngare stated.

Ngare noted that word soon reached Nyangenya's father who had just been released from prison.

"I spoke to the dad who was released from prison yesterday, it's a long story. This is not the first time the boy is disappearing from home. The mother is not at home, they parted ways with the father, and the granny who was taking care of the boy and other kids passed on and was buried last Friday," Ngare pointed out.

Geoffrey Onsare, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driver, who happens to be Nyangenya's relative, reached out and offered to reunite the boy with his father.

Officer Ngare noted that the boy needs counselling due to the recent family issues as he seemed perturbed by the situation.

Police have on many occasions intervened and put a smile on the faces of many citizens. Not long ago, police officers join forces and constructed a house for a family living in abject poverty in Kisii County.

The officers were touched by the plight of Henry Nyabuto and his family and sought to put a smile on their faces when they constructed a house and also contributed money for their upkeep.
