Mwasiwa had previously worked at Switch TV for two years. She announced her exit at the Red Cross affiliated channel during her last bulletin on Friday, August 7.

"Everything that has a beginning also has an end," she told her audience during the bulletin.

At Standard Media Group, she will work with her husband, Radio Maisha presenter, Mwalimu Mbaruk.

The duo tied the knot in a private ceremony in February 2021.

Mwasiwa joins anchor Fred Indimuli at KTN. Indimuli quit the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) in September 2021, nearly two months after he had joined the government-owned station.

The two anchors replaced Ben Kitili, Lofty Matambo and Fridah Mwaka who all quit KTN for NTV

Kitili resigned after eight years at KTN to take the position of News Editor at NTV.

He will be in charge of the NTV newsroom, guiding reporters and anchors as well as helping the station's news coverage.

"He will be helping the Managing Editor as well as anchor news and host shows," an insider disclosed.
