Women lined up in queues to receive their share and broke to dance rejoicing and ululating as the aides distributed the cash.

Upon receiving their shares, the women danced showing the notes to the MP as a way of appreciation and gratitude.

The video emerges just days after Deputy President William Ruto visited Bungoma and Kakamega counties. MP Barasa is a close ally of the Deputy President.

Ruto was hosted by Barasa and former Kakamega Senator, Bonny Khalwale.

The DP's trip dealt a blow to Ford Kenya leader and Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, after his close ally and Kabuchai MP, Joseph Majimbo Kalasinga, decamped from his party and declared his support for the DP.

"Our beloved DP Ruto, let me tell you that you and Bungoma are one thing and we are ready to work with you in your quest to empower the hustlers of this country," he said.

During his tour of the Western region, Ruto revealed why he believes President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga, betrayed him.

Speaking on Saturday, September 18, in Kakamega County, Ruto claimed that although he campaigned for Odinga in 2006-2007, the ODM leader went ahead to betray him.
